Gentille House
Gentille is the house of the elephants. “Gentille” means ”kindness” in French. Elephants know treating everyone with kindness and respect makes our school and the world a better place for everyone!
The Story of Gentille
One hot summer day, Elephant was walking through the forest. She came upon Fox, who was jumping up the air, snapping his jaws at a bunch of grapes hanging from a tree. The grapes looked perfectly ripe, juicy, and sweet. Fox’s mouth was watering as he leapt over and over again, trying to snatch the grapes out of the tree.
Elephant knew that Fox was not well-liked by the other animals. Fox was considered sneaky and untrustworthy by many. Still, Elephant took pity on Fox. She reached up, plucked the grapes from the tree and handed them to Fox, who looked a bit bewildered.
“Why didn’t you keep the grapes for yourself?” asked Fox.
“I can get as many grapes as I want,” Elephant replied. “I knew you needed help.”
“But none of the other animals like me,” said Fox. “Why did you help me?”
“I helped you because I could,” Elephant said. ”When you can, you should always choose to be kind.”
